Favourite WOD: Anything including Rope Climb.
What I hate to see on the board: Thrusters.
Favourite lift: Snatch.
Biggest transformation I’ve experienced as a result of being with CrossFit Auckland: I’ve gone from barely being able to do a box jump to being way fitter, stronger, having better balance and coordination
Most memorable CrossFit moment: First Muscle-up.
Before CrossFit: Moderately active. Always done some sport. Windsurfed competitively as a teenager, and started surfing in my 30s but not fanatically. Never lasted longer than 6 months at a regular gym.
Life outside CrossFit: I used to be a builder. Changed career 8 years ago to architrcture and am currently working towards registration as an architect. My partner and I are expecting our first child early Feb 2019 which is cool.
Favourite meal: Hard to beat roast chicken and vegetables.
Favourite movie: Rob Roy was a doozer.
Favourite band or artist: Actually don’t have one. I listen to all-sorts from classical to metal and god knows what – Spotify has me listening to all kinds of genre I cant even identify. If you asked me 25 years ago it would be easy to answer.
If you were to recommend CFAK to your best friend, what would you say? It’s an awesome buzz. You’ll transform yourself physically and you feel like you’re on uppers throughout the day. I bet you wont be able to stop if you try!
