60 classes a week gives you convenience and a ton of variety. Our All Access Pass includes new member Basic Training, CrossFit Group Training, No Barbell WOD, QuickFit Express Workouts, XLR8 Outdoor High Intensity Training, Gymnastic Skills, Raw Strength and Olympic Weightlifting, Comp Training and Open Gym. And we offer Kids & Teens Fitness for ages 5 to 18.

WE CUSTOMISE.

If you have a personal or sporting goal that extends beyond basic fitness, Custom Programming or Personal Coaching might be what you’re looking for. We have a history helping athletes achieve their best performance in their respective disciplines, as well as helping athletes return to form after injury or extended absence.

ABOUT US

In 2008 we stumbled across CrossFit while researching for our own training and program development. Our first reaction was, ‘there are people out there using similar training methodology, producing wicked athletes and they’re calling it CrossFit’. We checked it out, applied for affiliation and not long after, CrossFit approved our application and contacted us to say someone else in Auckland NZ had also just applied. We were not alone and the fitness landscape was about to be changed!  And for a very long time there was just us doing our bit to educate kiwis about the efficacy of CrossFit and how it differs from the traditional gym regime. We’ve changed allot of lives since then. We’ll remember the original gym with fondness where the CrossFit Auckland family began.

At CrossFit Auckland we train incredibly hard. Harder than most thought they were capable of when they started. Everyday our members break down barriers and set new standards for themselves. We welcome everybody with the right attitude to share our journey and become a part of our amazing CrossFit Auckland community.

We are North Shore’s original CrossFit® gym established in 2008.

Alex Porter is a strength and conditioning coach and co-founder of CrossFit Auckland, an affiliate of CrossFit® Inc. and an IKFF certified Russian Kettlebell Instructor.

Lisa O’Neill has 22 years fitness industry experience spanning a range of roles and achievements prior to opening CrossFit Auckland in 2008. These include 16 years as a personal and group training instructor and a career in facility management, fitness education and fitness product development.

David Cooke is an athlete who originally started CrossFit to eradicate recurring injuries. Having been successful in his first goal, he caught the CrossFit bug and completed his CrossFit® Level I Trainer (CF-L1) in Northern Ireland in 2010.

Bene’s passion in sport was handball and soccer in her home country Norway. Here she attended a sports specific institute before studying in the Dominican Republic and continuing her higher education in New Zealand, where she completed a BA of Sport and Recreation.

Matiu Brown
Matiu BrownCrossFit Auckland Coach
Matiu’s first passion in sport was Rugby League where he was First XV Captain throughout high school and in 2007 moved to Sydney where he joined the Roosters Rugby League Under 20’s Development Squad.
In 2009 he completed his personal trainer course and early in 2012 Matui got his first taste of CrossFit and has been hooked ever since.

Antoinette has over 16 years experience in Coaching, Personal Training and Group Training. She obtained her national colours in both gymnastics and tumbling starting her career in coaching at a young age. At 18 she managed her own gymnastics club and inspired and coached a national team of elite gymnasts.

Bernie Murch
Bernie MurchCrossFit Auckland Coach
Bernie Murch played most sports as a child growing up, representing B.O.P in women’s soccer and Auckland in Women’s Rugby, gaining selection to trial for the Black Ferns. It wasn’t until her mid twenties that ‘Outrigger Canoe Paddling’ became a passion which lead to National Titles in Sprint racing during 2002 – 2010.

Katie graduated with a Bachelor in Sport and Recreation Specializing in Sports Science at AUT University, also completing a 12-month internship with High Performance Sport New Zealand within their strength and conditioning department. Katie has now joined the team as an intern coach sharing her experience and passion with others.

I grew up playing a lot of sports, my main sport being Basketball of which I represented Rep teams such as North Harbour and Junior NZ development squads. Unfortunately I had the passion torn away from me when I was young and found myself quite lost throughout my teens. I developed an eating disorder, Bulimia & starving myself from the age of 14 and this stayed with me through to my adult years until the age of 24. After finding CrossFit and training at CrossFit Auckland I have finally rid the habit that had held me back for so many years and have a new found confidence in myself.

During the whole of 2011 I would drive by the old CrossFit box and look at these poor people running along the road with sandbags and other peculiar gear. I would think, “no way I will ever do that – so not elegant”. Yet I made my son Ladhu and my nephew Jacob members of CrossFit Auckland’s Kids and Teens program. They loved it (and still do). It was unlike anything else they’d tried before. So by the end of 2011 I gave it a try. The plan was to only do 3 months – just enough to get in shape. I was “skinny fat” with weak noodle arms and a long car butt, worse I was chronically fatigued. I had difficulty eating. There are one hundred thousand things I can say about my experience at CrossFit Auckland, but I will try to keep it short and sweet.
