The primary focus of a personal consultation is to work with you to formulate an eating plan that best suits your health and weight goals taking into consideration your food preferences.
Julianne uses nutrition principals drawn from the Zone and Paleo diets, a well as current clinical studies.
The Zone diet is based on eating an ideal balance of protein, carbohydrate and fat that is optimal for you. It is a moderate rather than high carbohydrate diet which reduces inflammation, gives excellent blood sugar and appetite control maximising fat loss.
The Paleo diet eliminates foods that are the most problematic for people – grains, legumes and possibly diary; foods that are a relatively recent addition to the human diet. A Paleo diet s based on eating pre-agricultural foods that humans have been eating for over 200 thousand years. Julianne’s experience with clients is that people thrive on these food choices and many health issues like skin problems, joint inflammation, gut and digestive issues improve markedly.
During your consultation you will also discuss any health issues you have and Julianne will recommend foods to avoid, or supplements to include.

A first consultation takes 1 ½ hours. This includes a full overview of medical and health problems, your weight and basic measurements. If you have any of the following medical tests please bring them with you:
- Cholesterol profile (total, HDL, LDL, triglycerides)
- C-Reactive protein
- Blood pressure
- Body fat analysis
- Results from any other tests that may be applicable
Julianne will go through nutrition principles and explain how protein, carbohydrate and fat are used in your body. She will outline the best food choices and how your choices may influence fat loss or gain and contribute to health issues.
Taking into consideration your health goals and ideal weight, you will leave with simple meal ideas that suit your lifestyle and food preferences as well as supplement recommendations for optimal health. You will receive the 80 page Zone Nutrition booklet, plus additional information on paleo principles.
This initial session will give you everything you need to get started. A follow-up is recommended to make sure all is going well and to tweak your plan if required.
