…not your typical Paleo blog post. A good number of members are currently in their third week of a 30-day Paleo Challenge. With St Patricks day this passed weekend, there have been questions about what’s in whisky and other alcoholic drinks, and if you did partake how do you treat this on your daily score sheet – and which points do you lose.
So here’s a little look into how whisky is produced… it will answer questions about processed food, grain and sugar points. Also a useless but interesting fact of the week for you.
Whisky (British English) or whiskey (Irish English and American English[1]) is a type of distilled alcoholic beverage made from fermented grain mash. Different grains are used for different varieties, including barley, malted barley, rye, malted rye, wheat, and corn.
