30 Days of CrossFit & Paleo
August 5, 2011 Fitness
Congratulations to all members of the 30 Day CrossFit and Paleo Challenge!
The Winning Male and Female are… Richard Blainey (aka Roo) and Emma Ngawhare.
Not only did Roo complete the challenge without losing a single point in 30 days, second to Aaron he also shaved 1min 8sec off his baseline fitness test. Way too go Roo! While there’s not allot of visible change in Roo’s before and after photos… personally I reckon he’s increased muscle density especially his back.
Emma (pipping Jo by 1 point) made an outstanding effort changing her nutrition and lifestyle habits significantly for the challenge, she stuck with her regime of 3 WODs p/wk – never missing a session. She shaved 2min 16sec off her baseline fitness test and is definitely going to continue with a Paleo lifestyle. Emma’s photos show significant fat loss all over. Check it out Emms – downsizing the tommy, back, waist, thighs and arms… the whole package. Good going girl.
Below are the challenge score board and baseline fitness test results. I want to acknowledge that everyone on the challenge made changes to some degree and “everyone” on the challenge achieved significant results in a short 30 days. Results vary and range from visible changes in body composition (sorry folks we’re not posting everyone’s B4 & after photos), to improved sleep and energy, health, strength and fitness gains. Over the next few weeks I’ll be posting statements from the members who participated so everyone can read what they personally got out of their 30 day commitments.
Challenge points were based on removing processed foods, starchy carbs, grains and sugars from the diet – some also went diary free. Members gained points for having a minimum of 8hrs sleep each day, drinking 2l of water, ensuring they achieved sufficient Omega 3, training at CrossFit Auckland, post workout refuel and a minimum number of meals p/day.
Stay tuned for member success stories and don’t forget that we have 16 members half way through their 8 week I AM CROSSFIT challenge who are maintaining the same daily nutrition and lifestyle score sheets. Give them your encouragement and ask them how they’re tracking.

Awesome work all, great results in such a short amount of time!
