CrossFit Birkenhead’s Birthday Games entry closes TODAY – Let’s get into it crew!
Complete as many rounds as possible in 20 minutes of:
- 7 Front Squat, 70/45kg
- 10 Dumbbell Overhead walking lunge, 20/12.5kg (right hand)
- 7 Burpees
- 10 Dumbbell Overhead walking lunge, 20/12.5kg (left hand)

I had the previledge of watching Benji water ski yesterday afternoon at Birkenhead wharf.
After a slowish start and getting boxed out he smoked the entire field and proceeded to lap his competitors – Bloody impressive Benji! Good Luck for the rest of the season mate.
Good on you Benji!
Loved the WOD this morning, felt like a long slog more than an all out assualt, but it still a keeper.
I have become very suspicious of WOD’s where the coach yells out “…use the burpees for recovery…” I realised there are a number of these little gems in a sport where calling “TIME” has a totally differnt meaning to most other sports. I would like to see if we can’t make up a list of the top 10 things you don’t want to hear in a WOD ( in the vain of the Tonight Show’s top 10 lists).
So to help with this perhaps you can list your top 3 favourites on this BLOG and we can see what we come up with…
I’d like to have some fun with this, please keep it in the spirit of Crossfit, no put downs…

1. “…whatever you do – DO NOT PUT THE BAR DOWN…”
2. “… You can rest when the WOD is over…”

I am going to have to go with Jester on the Don’t Want to Hear Items… “That last one didn’t count” (after you have put the bar down) would be tops on my list I think.
I ditto Erics 3, and Definately with Jester on that… any version of
“No Rep”
“Miss”
“Nope”
“That last rep didn’t count”… especially when they say “the last rep”specifically
“There were 3 no reps in there”
AND, I especially want to kick the coach in the nuts who said “Her heel was off the platform, thats a no rep… cause when every rep counts – he was walking on dangerous turf!
…and on that note… love your Coaches. Thanks Shawn for telling me I get to go to Coach Heaven this morning for not adding more running to the XLR8 WOD.
